How to Choose the Right Fit

Wagmade pet totes and travel accessories are designed for calm everyday outings with small dogs and cats. This guide is a lightweight starting point: use your pet's real measurements first, then contact us if you are unsure.

Measure Your Pet

1. Weight: weigh your pet before choosing a carrier. Use the product page information when available, and avoid choosing a bag only by appearance.
2. Length: measure from the front of the chest to the base of the tail while your pet is standing naturally.
3. Height: measure from the floor to the top of the shoulders, then note whether your pet usually sits tall or curls up.
4. Body shape: note whether your pet is long-bodied, broad-chested, or especially fluffy, because those details affect comfort inside a soft carrier.

Fitting Tips

• Your pet should have enough room to settle naturally without being forced into a tight posture.
• For tote-style carriers, check the opening size, handle drop, structure, and ventilation before first outdoor use.
• For sling-style bags, check that the strap length is comfortable for your body and that your pet feels supported.
• Introduce the carrier slowly at home before longer outings. Let your pet step in, sit, and rest before adding movement.
• If your pet seems stressed, overheated, or unable to settle, pause the outing and reassess the fit.

Before You Go Out

• Use the built-in safety tether when the product includes one.
• Keep the carrier partially open only when it is safe and supervised.
• Pack water, cleanup items, and a familiar small blanket for longer days outside.
